Residency Program: Creative Residency

Our Creative Residency program offers one-month experiences of living in harmony within a residential contemplative community while giving you the space to engage in your own creative work. You’ll find a place of serenity and inspiration for writing, painting, song writing, poetry, and other creative projects.

While you are welcome to enter into the daily schedule of the resident community, including meditation, meal times, work projects, and community events, you can tailor your stay to focus entirely on your creative projects.

In this program, you’ll:

• Provide a one-hour presentation to the community and guests about your creative project.
• Observe the community’s practices including periods of silence, quiet hours, and other policies.
• Participate in kitchen cleanup after meals alongside the resident community.

Optional activities available to you:

• Engage in the resident community’s daily meditation schedule.
• Participate in weekly spiritual direction with a resident spiritual director.
• Participate in special programs, events, and retreats that are open to community members without fee (subject to contract requirements with facilitators, open events during your stay will be identified).

Multiple month residencies may be available, subject to cabin availability.  Partial residencies of two to three weeks are also available at a pro-rated cost.

Application Process

In order to participate in this program, you’ll undergo an application process and interview to explore if this is a fit for your needs and our community. Rates

Standard cabin: $1,900 per month (includes all meals)

Hermitage: $3,400 per month (includes all meals)

The normal rate for single occupancy in a standard cabin for a month is $2,550 or $4,500 for the Hermitage. The reduced rate is offered in exchange for your presentation about your creative project.
