The Forest invites you to deeply rest with a new moon yoga nidra.

Yoga nidra means “yogic sleep” and is an ancient yoga practice that is powerfully relaxing and restorative. It acts like a guided meditation where you lay down, become very relaxed, and listen to a facilitator guide you through deepening layers of awareness through a systematic sequence of body awareness and breathing. It expands beyond the boundaries of body and mind, and it can profoundly heal and restore the body’s reserves and unburden your life.

It can help to create greater resilience to stress and can boost the body’s healing potential. This simple practice has profound restorative and balancing effects and is safe and easy to practice. In a hypnagogic state between dreaming and consciousness, an intention, or sankalpa, is set. While you can set intentions at any time, they are more effective when they’re planted into a very relaxed mind.

The darkness of the new moon is a potent time for resting and setting intentions. You can do this meditation from the comfort of your own home. The meditation will include:

  • A brief introduction about yoga nidra and the current new moon energies.
  • Settling into your comfortable space.
  • A 30-40 minute yoga nidra practice.
  • Resting to peaceful music for the remaining time.
