Introduction to Spiritual Friendship (Online Course and Retreat)
With David MacDonald
November 13 - 15, 2026
What is friendship?
How could friendship have a spiritual dimension to it?
How do people build long-lasting community?
These are just a few of the key questions that will be explored in this online course and retreat. Using a variety of sources from across different traditions, we will explore together what it means to be a spiritual friend, and how to make spiritual friends in a world that seems antithetical to such deep connections.
The course meets every other week on Tuesday evenings: September 1, 15, 29, and October 13, 27. The retreat will take place the weekend of November 13-15, at the Forest of Peace. During the course, there will be assigned readings. Some of the readings will be from a book that will be given to you, and others will be online resources, and even some video resources that you will find useful in building your practice of spiritual friendship.
